Why chemical and biological weathering is negligible in polar climate
Answers
Answer: Chemical weathering is negligible because in the polar region the rocks get covered by snow or heavy layers of ice which breaks the contact of the rock with the outer atmosphere. This means that oxygen , carbon dioxide, etc cannot get access over the rock due to which chemical weathering is not possible. Biological weathering is negligible because burrowing animals like rabbit, rats, etc are not found there and also in polar region human activities like mining, dam construction, deforestation, etc are absent.
Explanation:
Answer:
It is because, in polar regions any animal or even any human being is not present (mostly) which means no agent for biological weathering thus biological weathering can not occur. Chemical weathering can also not occur as due to a thick layer of ice is there on almost every rock.
