why chemical formula of sodium sulphate is Na2so4 and of ferric phosphate is FePO4.why it is so?

Because in na2so4 the valency of sulphate is 2 and that of sodium is one.... Similarly in fepo4 both phosphate and ferric(III) has valency 3 so their compound formula is fepo4

For sodium sulphate the formula is Na2So4 because of their valencies the valency of sodium is 1 and the valency of sulphate is 2 like this only the formula of ferric phosphate is FePo4 because the valency of phosphate and ferric is 3
