why chlorophyll only absorb red and blue

chlorophyll absorb all light colours except green. But the activity of chlorophyll is maximum when it absorb red and blue light.

bcz they have intensity perfect for photosynthesis.
you can check absorption and action spectrum of the light in photosynthesis.that will help u understand it
