Chloroplasts work to convert light energy of the Sun into sugars that can be used by cells. It is like a solar panel that changes sunlight energy into electric energy.
The entire process is called photosynthesis and it all depends on the little green chlorophyll molecules in each chloroplast.

■Chloroplasts contain the green pigments chlorophyll which absorbs radiant energy from the sun and converts it into potential energy .
■It then chemically combines energy with water and carbondioxide via the process of photosynthesis to release the end products OXYGEN AND GLUCOSE .
■Glucose is transported as sucrose and converted to an insoluble starch which acts as an reserve energy of an plant .
