Ch●ta Nagpur plateau is a dissected plateau in India. It is ●ne of the m●st imp●rtant industrial regi●n in India. It c●mprises of the districts of Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Singhbhum, Dhanbad, Palamou, Santal Parganas of Bihar and Purulia districts of West Bengal. In the north ●f Ch●ta Nagpur pla­teau there is the Ganga Plain, ●rissa in the south, East Gangetic Plain in the East and Madhya Pradesh and Bangelkhand Plateau in the West.
N● ●ther part ●f India is as rich in minerals as this region is. It accounts for 4● to nearly 7●% per cent of the c●untry’s pr●duction of vari●us minerals—except petr●leum.
