"chunnampu vellam" also known as limewater is a filtered solution of Calcium Hydroxide in water, on reacting with CO2, it produces insoluble milky white precipitate of Calcium carbonate which settles down.

Equation is: Ca(OH)2 + CO2-------> CaCO3 + H2O
