sour substance such as lemons have citric acid. therefore when curd and and sour substance are kept in bass and copper vessels they react with the elements forming respective salt and hydrogen . so we should not keep them in brass and copper vessels.

Citric Substances like Lemon, Orange, etc. have citric acid. Copper and Brass (alloy of zinc and copper) react with the acids (citric acid) to form certain salts which are poisonous in nature. Therefore, citric substances should not be kept in brass and copper utensils.
