Thorns of Citrus and tendrils of Cucurbita are homologous organs because both thorns and tendrils are stem modifications. But their functions are different. Thorns provide protection to the plants against predators while tendrils helps the plant in climbing for support and attachment.

✯  homologous or analogous?

thorns of citrus and tendrils of cucurbita are homologous organs.

✯ why are they homologous?

both of thorns and tendrils are stem modifications but their functions are not the same.

as,

✯ thorns: they give protection against predators and help to hold back the rate of evaporation.

✯ tendrils: they help to provide particular plant with support.

so, they are homologous.
