Hey there!!

=> Civil war that broke out in Srilanka due to majority dominance, that is the Sinhala community over the minority Tamils. This war led to the loss of lives from both the communities and many people became refugees. The civil war was a huge setback to the excellent record of economic development of Srilanka. It destroyed the foundation of the age old social and cultural values built up by the nation.

The civil war rendered many workless and homeless and detached them from their traditional society. Many suffered poverty due to the outbreak of the war.The society got shattered and had to be formed in a new way.It was an example of how excessive dominance of majority over minority can lead to a war causing a hue blow to the social, cultural and economic structure of a well-built society.

Hope it helped!!!!☺️

The Sri Lankan Civil War was an armed conflict fought on the island of Sri Lanka. Beginning on 23 July 1983, there was an intermittent insurgency against the government by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (the LTTE, also known as the Tamil Tigers), which fought to create an independent Tamil state called Tamil Eelam in the north and the east of the island. After a 26-year military campaign, the Sri Lankan military defeated the Tamil Tigers in May 2009, bringing the civil war to an end.
