Why cloning is considered as asexual reproduction

in this type of reproduction only one parent is involved due to which cloning is considered as asexual reproduction.

Because you don't need two cells with different genotype. When you clone something or it naturally happens ( for example cactus plants reproduce by cloning themselves) you just let the plant or whatever you are cloning grow by mitosis.By mitosis the plant usess its DNA to build new cells. So cloning is not a sexual reproduction because it doesn't involve two haploid cells.
