Why coefficient of static friction independent of area of contact while coefficient of kinetic friction depend on the area of contact​

Hence the Coefficient of Friction is independent of apparent area of contact because the apparent area of contact is much higher than the area of real contact. Mathematically Force Of Friction is equals to the product of Coefficient of Friction and the Normal force on the surface in contact.
