Why colour of hair becomes white at old age?
poornaverma02:
As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color — like gray, silver, or white — as it grows

Our hairs starts becoming white in old age because our skin of hair stops to produce "Melanin" a substance that keeps our colour of hair black.

If the production of the pigments called Melanocytes is less then the colour of the hair changes white.Sometimes stress also causes change in colour of hair.
