=>Cu^2^+ Are colored Because Cu^2^+ has incompletely filled d-orbitals (3d^9) ,therefore d-d transition is possible in  Cu^2^+, Which imparts color to copper

#Reason why compounds of Zn2+ are coloured :-

=>Zn^2^+ Are incolored Because Zn^2^+ has incompletely filled d-orbitals (3d^1^0)
