Why conservation of resources is the demand of present time?

as it is known to us demand of resources are more than its supply. resources are in scarcity. if we consume all the available resources without even bothering about its quantity used and left out for future , we would end up living without these resources and it would not be possible to survive without resources. As consequences present generation will consume all the resources but future generation will not be able to survive.hence it is necessary to take care of our environment at present and conserve it preserve it as much as possible.
