Cooking in pressure cooker takes less time because of this increase in atmospheric pressure that food cooksfaster. ... In a pressure cooker, the steam is trapped inside the pot, creating an interior pressure greater than the pressure outside, thus raising the boiling point of water. Higher pressure means higher temperature which means faster cooking.

less energy is required than that of boiling streaming or even cooking since less water has to be heated the food reaches its cooking temperature faster using more liquid than the necessary wasted energy because it takes longer to heat of the liquid starch in the recipe.
