why cooling effect of ice at zero degree is more effective than some amount of water at zero degree celsius

Hii there!!

Ice at 0°C has less energy than water ( although both are that the same temperature ). Water possesses the additional latent heat of fusion. Hence, at 0°C ice is more effective in cooling than water.
