Evaporation causes cooling because the particles of matter on the surface gain energy from the surroundings(heat gets absorbed) so,surroundings get cooler.....as compared to before

cooling is caused by evaporation because anything evaporates when it gets heat and the heat comes from the surroundings, for example, acetone on the palm evaporates by taking the heat of the hand and leaving the hand cold by absorbing the heat. this same process is there in every evaporation
