why copper turns green after sometimes


Rujuta: copper turns black after some time because copper teacts with oxygen prsent in air and make the layer of copperoxide on its surface which is green in color and thus the corrosion of copper take place and it change its colour into green

it goes in reactions with air ,water and atmospheric moisture ty

Because it reacts with carbonate present in atmosphere and hence it forms a layer of copper carbonate on it which is green in color.
