when we will heat copper..it reacts with oxygen to form copper oxide..thus it turns black on heating..

and just like iron when exposed in air turns red...copper also turns in green...on corrosion...

hey user...i don't knw the difference i m so sorry ....

bt hope it helps :)

ZiaAzhar89: actually when exposed in air then it react with co2 to form cuco3 which is green in colour and it is combination reaction
NeelkanthGaur: ok thnks
ZiaAzhar89: u welcome
NeelkanthGaur: in case of heating?
ZiaAzhar89: it reacts with o2 to forms cupric oxide which is black and endothermic reaction

Hello mate..!!!

→Copper turns green on corrosion because of chemical reaction with the elements. Just as iron that is left unprotected in open air will corrode and form flasky orange-red outer layer, copper that is exposed to the elements undergoes a series of chemical reaction that give the shiny metal a pale green outer layer called a patina.

→Heated copper metal reacts with O2 to form the black copper oxide.
