The cotton and textile industry spread all over India for the following reasons:
1. The cloth is an essential requirement and so the clothing business is spread everywhere in the country.
2. Since cotton was light in its weight, the raw material and manufactured goods could easily be transported anywhere.
3. The availability of the factors of inputs such as capital, labour etc.
4. The humid atmosphere was required for the industry, hence, this condition was also met by the industrialists by making an artificial humid condition inside the mills.
5. The costs of land increased, which led the industrialist to set up their factories at new distant areas.
