DURING WHEN THE BABY PLANTS HAS NOT COMPLETELY MATURED COTYLEDONS PROVIDE FOOD TO THE BABY PLANT. AND WHEN THE BABY PLANT COMES OUTSIDE THE SEED THE COTYLEDONS ARE REMOVED BECAUSE THE BABY PLANT IS MATURED TO MAKE ITS OWN FOOD BY THE PROCESS OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS.
