Manchester could never recapture its old position in the Indian market after the war because of the following reasons.
- The economy of Manchester got shattered after the war.
- It was unable to renew the destruction and therefore could not get modernized.
- It was left behind in the global market. As it could not keep pace with the fast-changing world and most of the time went on improving the war destructions.
- As a consequence of the war, the cotton production in Manchester collapsed and was no longer exported which caused huge losses.
