Poem: THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Stanza: 3rd

" Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back. "

Here, In this 3rd stanza of the poem, the poet Robert Frost addresses the reason why he cannot take both the roads.

The poet is having discussion in his mind, where he is being sorry for not taking both the roads to travel. So he likes to think that he could come next time to try the first of the two roads some other day.

Deeply he knew that both the roads leads to the different way and may be the one doesn't get a chance to come back to the original place to make the choice again.

So he doubts that may be he'll never be back again at the particular crossroad due to his choice here will call for future choices so he'll be guided far away from this one.
