Why could you not use an elastic measuring tape to measure distance? What would be some of the problems you would meet in telling someone about a distance you measured with an elastic tape?

some some of the problems which we face are
we cannot get the desired distance we need and as it is elastic maybe it can stretch more and give us wrong distance

A degree of separation or quantity between two points, lines, surfaces or objects is called distance.
Units of distance are meters, centimetres, kilometres, inch, mile, yard, square feet, etc.
A chain or a measuring tape is used to measure distances in a field (e.g. the length and width of a field).
An elastic tape can be stretched. It can not be used to measure distances because the tape length can change when it is stretched.
Consequently, the measured length would not be correct.
