HEYA MATE,
HERE IS UR ANSWER.
Thanks for asking this question.
Food preservation enabled ancient man to make roots and live in one place and form a community. They no longer had to consume the kill or harvest immediately, but could preserve some for later use. Each culture preserved their local food sources using the same basic methods of food preservation. In other words, its allowed civilization as we know it to form.
I HOPE IT HELPS U.

The reasons why the early people couldn't store food for a long time is as follows:
- The processes of preserving food in early period is totally different from present time. This problem occurs for lack of techniques.
- They don't have any idea about keeping fruits and vegetables in a dry and moisture-proof way.
- The lack of packing material and idea of packing are also a very reason of this.
- Otherwise, some modern ideas like fermentation, canning, freezing and use of chemicals plays a vital role. The people of early days were unaware of these.
