As the kidneys become impaired for any reason, the creatinine level in the blood will rise due to poor clearance of creatinine by the kidneys. If the persons kidneys are not functioning well ...there can be a rise in the creatinine level of the blood ..

Creatinine is excreted in urine but if the proper tubular secretion doesnt occur in kidney it wud not be secreted into the tubules and hence it will increase in blood..
