why curdling of milk takes place when a little curd is added to it ?

When a small amount of starter is added to milk, it gets converted to curd. The curd when added into the milk, the Lactic acid bacteria present in the curd cause coagulation of casein which convert into curd. Curds are a dairy product obtained by curdling (coagulating) milk.

A bacteria named lactobacillus is present in curd and when curd is added to the milk and allowed to rest the lactobacillus multiply(reproduce) and convert lactose(present in milk) to lactic acid,which makes milk sour and curdled. It is because of Lactobacillus bacteria as it convert milk into curd.
