why current is a base physical quantity?

It basically depends on the number of electrons. The SI standardization is more like having a measure which signifies the quantity measured. One ampere is defined with the help of “force between parallel wires”. I’m not suggesting it is too simple to perform but more accurate and feasible comparing the alternate reality with coulomb’s law
