D-block elements are called transition elements because they show variable valencies from coloured ions, para magnetism, and also used as catalysts.
More about d-block elements
- Differentiating electron enters into inner d orbitals (n-1)d subshell.
- Also called as transition metals .
- General electronic configuration (n-1)d¹⁻¹⁰ ns¹⁻² .
- d – block elements are placed between s – block and p – block elements
- They all are metals.
