why darjeeling has pleasant climate compared to kolkata which is nearest to sea in summer season

It is because the temperature decreases with Increase with altitude that is 9.8 degree celcius for every 1 km. Since darjeling is located at higher altitude it experiences cooler weather than Kolkata which although is near the sea.
