Answer: Darzen's process is the best way to prepare alkyl hallide because when alcohol reacts with SOCl₂ then it leaves alkyl hallide in the purest form and rest in gaseous form.
→R-OH + SOCl₂ ⇒ R-Cl (Pure form) + HCl(g) + SO₂(g)
Example - Ch₃-Ch₂-OH + SOCl₂ ⇒ CH₃-Ch₂-Cl (Pure form) + HCl (g)↑ + SO₂ (g) ↑
