why days are longer in summers and nights are shorter in summer and vice versa in winters??

It is due to orbital distance between sun and us
In winters the distance is huge hence sunrays are unable to reach fully to us
But in summers the distance is short between us and sun thus all rays of sum reach us so we feel warmth
