Why decomposing substance are known as biodegradable waste and not non biodegradable waste,??

Biodegradable waste do not pollute environment and Non biodegradable material pollute environment.

Explanation:

Biodegradable waste decomposes in Nature with long term time period in soil as result it converted in fossil fuels or manure for improving fertility and Non Biodegradable never decomposes with nature.

Ex of Biodegradable waste are Vegetable, Fruits seeds and outer cover and Non-Biodegradable are Polythene, Plastic bottles.

Some materials are biodegradable because they can be decomposed by micro-organisms/decomposers. For example-substances like paper, vegetable peels can be decomposed by micro-organisms into organic compounds, hence they are biodegradable.

On the other hand, some substances are non-biodegradable because the micro-organisms/decomposers cannot break or decompose them. For example – polythene bag cannot be decomposed by micro-organisms/ decomposers and hence they are non-biodegradable.
