Humans are used to only a specific range of pressures. At sea level, we feel one atmosphere. But if we go higher up, the air is thinner, less dense, and has less pressure. When we go to the depths of the seas, we have many atmospheres, water is heavier and has way more pressure. At both these levels, humans cannot comforably move around, they could even get injured.
