Deforestation is NOT ONLY done in India. It is a problem faced by ppl all around.the world. It really affects out environment in a bad way. As you asked, the animals and plants do get affected. They lose their shelter. They don't have place to live. Because of this they run to human settlements which is often an end to their life. Due to degrading forests, the prey base of the animals is also decreasing forcing them to starve to death.

Deforestation is not the issue entangled in India it is a global issue. It's a result of growing population in the world. As the population grows there are need more land. This is the reason the forests are cleared on large scale.
Not only population but also the industries are also contribute to Deforestation. It's a global issue which needs to be tackled judiously. Yes animals and birds are also affected by it as forests are the natural habitat of many animals.
