Why Dehydration not occurs in Methanol it gives Dehydrogenatio similarly Dehydrogenation not occurs in 3º - Butyl Alcohol it gives dehydration explain with the help of chemical equations​

Methanol dehydrogenation is the first step of this and similar catalyst reaction. As Zorica Mojović said, dehydration n dehydrogenation both r very difrerent. Methanol doesn not undergo dehydration. Dehydrogenation of methanol leads to formation of formaldehyde and release of hydrogen.
