A gas usually has much lower density than a solid or liquid. The molecules or atoms in a gas are much further apart than in a solid or a liquid. Gas molecules or atoms are usually flying around at very high speeds.

Answer:

particles are very far appart. so the concentration of particles per unit volume is very less. if particles are very less then the mass per unit volume of the substance is also very less. there for densities of gass are very less.
