hey friend! here is your answer-
density of ice is less than water because of the arrangement of molecules in ice it is denser than liquid. ice is less denser due to crystalline rigid arrangement of ice and so thereby density of ice is less than water.
the density of both elements is -
Density of water = 1000 kg/m³
Density of ice = 916.7 kg/m³
