All animals have different eating habits. For example - herbivores have teeth specialised for grinding leaves, unlike carnivores they lack canines which is specialised for tearing meat.Omnivores eat both plants and animals so they have combination of both canines and molars for grinding and tearing food.So in order to co operate with their eating habits mammals have dentetation according to the food they take.

Hope this helps u
