Answer:
Detectives wear hat and sunglasses for many reasons such as :
- Protecting eyes from UV rays of sunlight, pollution and wind if they are working outdoors.
- To conceal their true identity by hiding their face behind sunglasses and hand
- They can make eye contact with the target without him being aware, since detective’s eyes are shielded against sunglasses.
- Unnecessary glare may hamper vision and could be an obstacle in searching for minute traces of evidence. Sunglasses and hats are helpful in blocking glare and enhance visual clarity.
- Sunglasses and hat are a customary part of detective’s attire as being widely popularised by fictional characters Sherlock Holmes, Jame Bond etc.
- It is their style statement.
