Why Diamond acquire a great brilliance when properly cut and polished

Because diamonds are so hard, they take a high polish, even more superior than glass. When light enters a well cut diamond, it refracts and reflects, like hundreds of little mirrors within the stone, then exits through the top parts of the stone
