why diamond not being neccessity is priced so high and water is cheap

its non renewable resource and it is limited...
its take time to make a diamond
diamond is not our basic need...
but water is non renewable.. and we. don't need anything to make water ...water is basic need of life everybody needs it whether he/she poor or rich
