Dichogamy is a condition in which the maturity time of the androecium and gynoecium differs. Sometimes the male organ matures first and sometimes the female.
So self pollination is prevented
During this time if pollen grains of another plant of the same species fall on the stigma of the dichotomous flower then pollination will occur which is cross pollination.
