The dicot leaf is also known as the dorsiventral leaf because it has both the dorsal and ventral side with identifiable features.
The protective layer namely the epidermis is on both the upper and lower epidermis.
In dorsiventral leaves, the lower epidermis also called the abaxial side has more number of stomata compared to the adaxial or upper epidermis.
