Stephen Leacock had lent a dollar to his friend Todd twelve months ago when he was leaving for a trip to Bermuda and needed some change to pay for the taxi. After he returned Stephen tried several ways to remind him about his debt. But Todd failed to remember the loan. One day he even said that he had started forgetting all about his Bermuda trip. Stephen was exasperated. He felt that all his efforts to recover the dollar were futile. He realized that his dollar was lost forever and brooded over it.
