Abul Fazl says that in order “to soothe the minds of the zamindars, he entered in to matrimonial relations with them”. Akbar wanted to befriend the rajputs because he realized that to establish an empire in India ,it was imperative to befriend the Rajputs. Also , he was impressed by their loyalty and bravery.
