Admiration of Porus by Greek HistoriansGreek historians agree that Porus bravely fought until the end unlike Darius who fled after being defeated during the Battle of Gaugamela.

Alexander respected this and told  Porus  he  wouldremain king, owing allegiance to Alexander.
