In 1928, she received a phone call and she was shocked to hear that she was invited to become the first woman passenger to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a plane.
"The idea of just going as 'extra weight' did not appeal to me at all," she said, but she accepted the offer nonetheless. That thing just changed her life completely also it took around 14hrs to cross that Atlantic Ocean and after that she become so famous that she was given parties and even a ticker tape parade down Broadway in New York City. Even the President Coolidge called to congratulate her on crossing the Atlantic.
