why did Anne want to keep a diary ? why did she prefer it over other possibilities?

Anne was at a age where she need someone with whom she can share her feelings as well as emotions. bt she found nobody like that......
after getting diary she had write a sentence that paper has more patience than a man and she decided to make her diary her best friend
