Why did Assam and Meghalaya have conflicts?

Answer:

The conflict over Langpih started in 1974 when Meghalaya police forcefully evicted people of Nepali community from their homes and grazing land. Neplai people, who are mostly engaged in animal husbandry, approached Assam police for justice.
